Overview
ComicK Reader is a browser extension that enhances your reading experience on Comick.dev. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Data Collection
Our extension operates with minimal data collection:
- •Local Storage Only: Chapter URLs and reading preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device.
- •No Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information such as names, email addresses, or user IDs.
- •Advertisements: We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website for generating access keys. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
- •API Requests: The extension makes API requests to our backend server only to fetch site status information and extension version updates. These requests do not include any personally identifiable information.
Permissions
The extension requires certain permissions to function properly:
- •storage: To save your chapter URLs and preferences locally in your browser.
- •host_permissions: To access supported scanlation sites for scraping chapter images.
These permissions are only used for the extension's core functionality and are never used to collect or transmit your personal data.
